There is a small island off the coast of Port Clyde, Maine with one lone tree. From afar, it looks a lot like a moose. As the founder of Moose Tree Media, I have always been curious about that tree and tried many times to get closer to it by kayak but was always turned back by choppy surf. One early summer morning I looked out on the ocean and saw flat calm and my chance to finally make it to the island. I was nervous crossing the open water, but determined. When I finally got there I realized that up close, I no longer saw the moose, but I wasn't disappointed. I loved seeing it from a new perspective. It was in that moment that I knew what I wanted to name our company. I still call it the Moose Tree, because that is what I see from the shore and the view always makes me happy. The journey to see it up close reminds me that I am always guided by curiousity-a desire to learn new things, meet new people and tell their stories.
